Life as a Cub Scout is fun, adventurous and rewarding. As a Cub Scout, your child will join their Cub Pack on exciting adventures, discovering hidden talents and exploring the world around them.
Cubs is the second section of the Scouting Movement for 8 to 10 ½ year olds. In this section, excitement and adventure are key. The Cub Scout Programme offers Cub Scouts a huge variety of activities, indoors and outdoors, allowing them to be creative and get involved in their local communities.
After a few weeks, your child will be ‘invested’. This is when they promise to do their best and help others. You can find the Cub Scout promise and law on this page.
If you're thinking of joining us, please click the 'getting started' link below to find out more about how to get involved.
On this page you can also find out more about the uniform scouts wear, badges and awards and more about our leaders.
On my honour, I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to the Queen,
To help other people
And to keep the Cub Scout Law
Cub Scouts always do their best
Think of others before themselves
And do a good turn every day.

All young people and leaders are required to wear uniform at most Scouting events and sessions. Each section is identifiable by its unique uniform.
Cub Scouts wear a green polo shirt, a green sweatshirt and our group scarf with a woggle.
You will get a necker when you start with us, but you'll have to buy a polo and sweater. You can go to the Chorley Scouts Shop or just ask one of the leaders.
